To be clear my post was in response to Fitch's statement, not the OP's question. I agree with the general sentiment here that the risk of providing these details to a reputable company (with a genuine need) via a secure form is limited. That said I would personally prefer to provide the details after a successful claim, rather than on every submission, to avoid unnecessary storage of personal data.
