I'm not doubting for one minute that what you say is true, but I am really struggling to imagine how someone could gain control of my UK bank account with the following details (not my real ones, obviously, just in case !):

Mr X Fitch
60-70-80
12345678

These are the details we give out to scores if not hundred of people over the life of the account, to allow them to pay us, set up a direct debit etc.

So, not doubting, and not soliciting for criminal techniques, just curious
