We have booked BC from Thailand to Scotland via Doha, Original flight from Thailand to Qatar and Qatar to Thailand was on a dreamliner.
Now they have added a stop on the way back from Qatar to Thailand, In Burma. we dont get of the plane.
But for me the worst part is they have changed from a dreamliner to the A319
I have asked Qatar for compensation, but they have said no as they gave us notice 1 month before the flight.
Would we be able to invoke the EU rules for compensation?

Unfortunately, there’s no basis for EC 261/2004 “EU” in this instance, particularly as you Flight neither originates in the EU nor is on a EU carrier.
The protection accorded to passengers departing from or to an airport located in a Member State should be extended to those leaving an airport located in a third country for one situated in a Member State, when a Community carrier operates the flight and where a community carrier
is defined as any carrier licensed to operate within that community.
You’ll have to stick to trying to get QR to reaccommodate or compensate you.
