I just find you tend to get nicer people in the upper deck, particularly in the rear cabin - they tend to be regular fliers or older people that have paid a fair whack to reserve a seat. However I'm not as stressed by legroom as other (taller) people so if that's a major issue to you then the throne seat is always likely to be the most enjoyable.
