OP here Thanks everyone for the detailed and insightful comments! I really learnt a lot from your comments. I did not realize that the PE product is so bad on AF. I've seen DL's PE product on the A350 and like it a lot, so (wrongly) thought that AF's PE product should be of a similar quality or better. Moreover, as some of you said, the cost of 78k miles is a lot, too. Therefore, I will not seek this upgrade then

There are two folow-up questions:

1) Is it possible for me to upgrade to Business Class even though there is a PE class in between?

2) Does AF have any plan to upgrade its PE product anytime soon?
