Yikes. I fly a myriad of routes with Delta each year, but as someone who flies predominantly in coach I rely on my transpacific travel for status. My work brings me to both mainland China and Hong Kong, and my strong preference is to hit both in the same trip, ending my travel in Hong Kong and flying back tot he States from there. As much as I enjoy my domestic, trans-Atlantic, and trans-American travel on Delta, removing Hong Kong entirely will make the routing too difficult to be worthwhile for my travel to Asia. As a Boston-based traveler this likely will mean that I'll end up pushing all my transpacific travel to American/One World meaning I'll eventually choose to fly them for most of my other travel as well, since that is where I'll be earning status. Any other folks in a similar boat?
