I stayed at the Hotel Del Sol in San Francisco this month. It was pretty good for what it was (converted motor inn), and the people were excellent. I did receive water and wine, which was nice, if a little odd.
A couple of cons: they have an urban amenity fee ($10, but I'm generally against them in principle) and very limited public transit access near the hotel. It's a nice neighborhood, though, especially for coffee (Wrecking Ball Roasters is a couple blocks away).
I'd likely, but not definitely, return - there are a lot of JDV hotels in San Francisco, so I'd be curious about how they vary.
