This had to happen. Seabourn, Crystal, Silversea....all marketing as ultra luxury when in fact they are nice upscale lines, maybe borderline luxury in the cruising world. RC will offer a product closer to what Silversea was offering in the '90s. Expect the price to be higher because it will be much different than what is offered in today's marketplace. They'll siphon customers and crew from the faux ultra luxury lines.
it it seems that prices are lower than other 6 star lines which is strange. But to be honest I have never found RC particularly upscale due to their coveted lounges which are construed as All inclusive - why would anyone visit some iconic destinations only to eat in some crappy lounge? They did say benefits for members to be announced shortly. They don’t seem to be pushing the boat out ‘pun’ for any particularly different destinations and most are only 7 nights,but I suppose it would make sense to use tried and trusted ports for their maiden season.
