I am afraid that somewhere in the conditions of the reward program it says that account must be in "good standing" at the time miles post, or something of that nature. But yes, not sure I want to wait until it bills (or at least much after that). 4000 miles are not worth that (but I am also waiting for the UC passes - my spouse can use them when transiting at NRT this summer).
