In a previous post you mentioned your points being returned so, assuming you contacted IHG to sort that out, what did they have to say about what happened with your reservation and the hotel's lack of assisting you as per guarantee etc.?
I wasn't aware of that guarantee to be honest or else I would have pushed things a bit and it was 9-10pm so wouldn't have been sure if IHG call centres were open at that time. Knew of the "best price" one but that didn't apply.
It was pretty much as I said, no reservation, bye.
The points just re-appeared by themselves. Either automatic or if I had a suspicious mind, the hotel trying to cover themselves in some way.
I did email IHG after I noticed the points were back regarding the situation and have a probably generic "we'll get back to you in 48hrs" email in response. May find phoning them yields better results although it's after the fact now so no idea what they would do if anything.
Added: Just tried my booking number / name in the app and it's not finding anything now.
