Suggestion, if you have members that have never been to the USA let alone Hawaii I would stay in Honolulu. You could stay at the Sheraton Princess cheaper renovated ( Tower) and walk across the street to the beaches and down the street to shops and restaurants. CY on North Shore is a long way out, and while I understand the post about it still. I would highly recommend the Marriott on Maui. That one was renovated several years ago greta beach and easy walk to the shopping mall.
