If that bag indeed weighed 25 kg, or even only 15, it should have been sent straight to the hold.
On rare occasions my carry-on has weighed 13 kg or so, but even then I can put it in the overhead locker myself with one hand.

I totally agree. I don't think the FA should have assisted. Why should they risk injury because the pax didn't check the bag in? There are others that ask for assistance from other pax. I think it stinks whenever anyone needs assistance with hand luggage that could have been checked in the first place. This includes old ladies too!
