Hi everyone, I haven't seen an update to this hotel for a while. I'm staying here currently for 4 nights. I'm an SPG Platinum with Ambassador that got matched over to Marriott. I have approximately 15-20 nights stay this year with Marriott though. I'm on a corporate rate which includes breakfast.

I did mobile check-in the day before; and was notified by the Marriott app that I had gotten upgraded to a King sized room. I'm not 100% certain of what room I had previously based on my corporate rate though.

Went by taxi from airport to the hotel (about $15). The outside of the hotel is really unremarkable and looks like a typical old style government building as it was a CP/CN Rail hotel (surprised that Fairmont didn't get this one). The inside and decor is very much like a Fairmont for that matter. The front of the hotel has several steps in and up into the lobby level. There was no elevator or accessible ramps that I could see (could be on another side of the building/entrance perhaps). (No doorman or valet around either)

I was greeted immediately at check-in who acknowledged my status after giving my last name and credit card. I received two keycards (Still magnetic strips) in an 'Upgraded" folio along with a sealed envelope wrapped with a black ribbon (name of hotel on the ribbon in gold). The clerk was uncertain on what was in the envelope and thought it might be a survey. (This was a personally written note from the sales team welcoming me to the hotel and inviting me to a 5pm cocktail hour at the Circa Lounge). I was given 750 points as my amenity as my corporate rate included continental breakfast (more on that later). Gym is open 24/7 but steam room has specific hours (sorry, didn't pay attention). No executive lounge. Main lobby has the restaurant and bar.

My room is on the 7th floor; the view was unremarkable (It's regina!) but it was a corner room with lots of light. The room is very spacious, lots of light fixtures throughout with USB and standard power points on the desk, on the night table stands, etc. There is a small bar refrigerator, one cup coffee maker, two bottles of water, coffee/tea, etc. There is also two bottles of wine (white and red) with a $28 tag on each. The bathroom is small but very nicely appointed. There is a shower with glass wall, no tub. Lots and lots of towels! The soap, shampoo, conditioner are very nice. Lots of space on the glass shelves for your personal items.

The big surprise is that there is a very large walk-in closet on the other side of the room (away from the bathroom). It's basically the size of the bathroom. Standard equipment inside (robe, hangers, digital safe, iron/iron board, etc.)

There is a small desk and 42-47" TV in the room as well. All channels appear to be in HD.

All in all, the room is very nice and bed is comfortable. The pillows could use an upgrade as two of the four are very small and very flat.

The breakfast was very good and held in their restaurant. Standard charge for the buffet is $28/person which was waived for us. It included baked goods, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, pastries, omelet station, fresh fruit, some cold cuts, juice, and coffee. If you're platinum, it would have been included and well worth it instead of the points for daily breakfast.

The hotel is easily within walking distance to the downtown core (5m) and within at least 10 restaurants that I passed earlier.

Hope this helps.
