...and just to add a random thought...
I booked a round-trip from EWN to Jakarta last month on Virgin (last minute kind of thing). The flight stopped over in London before going onward to Singapore, and the london to Jakarta segments were operated by Singapore airlines.
I paid $1700 for that flight, spending 20 hours in regular cattle-car coach.
This ticket cost me $400 less and it is on a plane with no plain old coach.

So I thinking what the catch might be. Less money for more space? Who would fly anything else?
