When applying for the IHG® Rewards Club Premium Credit Card how quickly do you get status enabled on your IHG Reward account?

IHG customer services have told me this : "I'd like to share with you that the Platinum Elite status will reflect on your account 6-8 weeks after you met the spending requirement of your IHG® Rewards Club Premium Credit Card."

This is totally different from their T&C's when applying for the card.

"You’ll automatically receive Platinum Elite Status when you open your account*" taken from https://credit-card.creation.co.uk/m...g_premiumcard/

"Platinum EliteStatus: As soon as you are accepted for the IHG Rewards Premium Credit Card, you will receive automatic Platinum Elite status, and all the benefits that come with it, unless you are already a Spire Elite member." taken from https://www.creation.co.uk/ihgcctermsandconditions/
