Very interesting thread! Has anyone managed to get rid of the resort fees for this property?
On IHG pages it states: "
- Standard Internet access will be available to all IHG® Rewards Club Members at no additional cost at all IHG hotels located globally with or without a hotel booking and/or qualifying stay. Internet availability in common areas varies by hotel. Internet accessibility, speed, and connectivity in common areas and guest rooms vary by hotel. Details regarding a property's Internet accessibility are available at the hotel's registration desk. Please note that The Venetian® and The Palazzo®, an InterContinental Alliance® Resort, do not offer the Free Internet Access benefit, which is instead included in the daily resort fee."
NO mention of Kimpton hotels, so I don't understand how they can try to claim I have to pay for Internet access when hotel's own policy states it should be free! I'm just raising the Internet access as it's the only Resort Fee "benefit" I would use.
On Kimpton pages it states: "Kimpton Karma Rewards is a part of IHG Rewards Club – with a single reward point system – bringing you the best of the Kimpton experience along with the rich benefits of IHG® Rewards Club. " So IHG rules should apply?
I've booked 6 nights in October at a fairly steep cost of 70000 points / night, and on the Kimpton pages it actually also states: "
- **Resort fee will change to $70 beginning October 1, 2018."
So even though this is more about the principle of not paying rip-off fees for something we don't use, it would amount to close to 500$ if there are indeed some additional service charges as well..
Any experiences from people that have visited would be much appreciated. I'm actually thinking of printing their own rules highlighted above and showing them to them!
