You aren't going to be able to actually see the seat assignments until OLCI opens but they will have been allocated already. I wouldn't worry about it.
Just called BA to double check to see and found out that the reason we were not assigned seats as family traveling with 12 yr old and under. BA rep’s reason was that special code was not entered from AA booking and that is the reason why we were not assigned seats 5days before the flight date(BA bs??). So I contacted Chase Ultimate Rewards (where I purchased the tickets from) and they try to help out. Chase was able to get BA to enter the code for our return flight back but not for outbound flight on 6/12th. So I tried one more time with BA and this time I got a rep who was willing to help and she took all the information. She told me that she will do her best to request for traveling with a child. Lesson is it all comes down to who you talk to on the phone. The 2nd BA rep (who is Indian) was very friendly and helpful, while the first rep was just straight forward(reading script???) I guess the worst case is if we don’t get assigned seats before 24hrs OLCI, is to try to select the seats at OLCI and get help at the ticket counter on the day of the flight.FYI: always double check.
