You can now use a GUC (again?) for anyone else on the same flight as you even if they are in a different PNR. This is a reversal of previous policy that required everyone to be in the same PNR to use a GUC for a companion.

Changed a few months back. Basically they updated policy to reflect what was being allowed anyway. You still must be on same flights and in J as person upgrading.
