And how much did it cost this time?
My usual Pho restaurant in Sydney has recently increased its prices for a large bowl to A$17, as far as I can recall thirteen years ago it was A$8 or 9.
I don't think it's the cost of ingredients that makes it more expensive in Europe than the US, it's the higher costs of doing business such as rent, employing staff, taxes etc
The Pho situation in London has improved since the original posts; I've been to a number of Vietnamese-run restaurants / cafes which all served a passable bowl.
However places like
https://www.phocafe.co.uk/ have also sprung up which are not good. These are not owned or operated by Vietnamese or even Asian people in any way. The ethnicity of the chef and owner shouldn't make a difference but it does - I guess they are just not using a proper recipe.
