I had an elderly driver who picked me up with what I assume was his daughter in the passenger seat. Not sure if that was for supervision or driving advice or some other reason (they conversed in Chinese). He drove down the wrong side of busy two-way streets in Chicago, nearly causing a head-on collision with an SUV, and made a left turn right in front of another oncoming vehicle. Reported using the “unsafe driver” functionality in the app and got an email
back refunding my ride and staying the driver’s record would be reviewed to determine if they would be able to continue driving for Uber, but I have no idea if any further action was taken. I doubt end users will ever learn of the ultimate outcome in cases like this.
