Actually, a follow-up question: I'm flying to LHR with BA from EDI the day before. Is it completely out of the question that the agent at EDI would agree to check my bag through to GVA? I know the official rule is that there's no through-checking of bags on separate tickets but not sure how strictly the rule is enforced.
I was offered this proactively, and gladly accepted. But there was no overnight 'connection' between my two separate bookings.
