My original -22,000 circle pacific fare was US$4900.00 in J. Does any one know what the 3 continent OWE costs in J? I am not interested in Global Explorer since you are saying that I would have to go via Europe.
There is a Qf code share from AKL to PPT and according to the web site it seems to be saying that as long as it has QF flight # and it is on an affiliate of QF that it should work.Does not say it has to be a OW affiliate
To be honest I find the distinction between OWE and Global explorer some what confusing.
You guys sure know a lot and it is much appreciated
On a OneWorld Explorer ticket, you have to go Round The World. For this ticket, the world is split into 3 areas, with 2 continents in each area. You must travel in a continuous direction between the three areas. Also note that there is no OneWorld airline that flies between South America and Africa, so you cannot do a 3-continent OWE in the soouthern hemisphere as you can in the northern hemisphere. So the minimum OWE that includes any southern hemisphere continents (South America, Africa, or SW Pacific) is 4-continents.
The term "affiliates" in OneWorld refers to subsidiaries of the main OneWorld alliance partners. The OneWorld Affiliates are
listed here. They include airlines like American Eagle as an affiliate of American Airlines, and QantasLink as an Affiliate of Qantas. Each airline may also have its own partnerships and sometimes part ownership (such as QF and FJ), but that does not make the partner airline a OneWorld Affiliate.
