KARFA is correct, you can use check-in on the day of departure from 05:00 hrs. If this was a big deal then you can perhaps change it to LGW-GVA, which does allow pre-check-in after 16:00 hrs the evening before. LHR does not offer this option, unless you get a through ticket from your start point.
