By the way, if you work for a large company (zaibatsu etc), there is a possibility of an unpublished status match.
My company allows matching to JAL (from ANA status only) because our in-house travel agent has a special contract with JAL.
I didn't end up doing it due to timing of match etc. but you can try asking your company travel agent if you want the statuses quickly.
Good to know! I am actually going to ask my company, pretty sure they have something like this... Maybe they can give me an status match and then apply for JGC ??

Anyway, this is my credit card list (been in Japan 4 years, 2 as a student, now I am seishain in a big Japanese company):

- Rakuten Card (my first card here). I don't use this anymore. Not sure if I should get rid of it or upgrade it to a Premium one to get Priority Pass. Is it worth it considering I always travel with my wife and I would have to pay extra to get here inside a lounge?
- JAL Card (MasterCard, standard): I got this card referred from my boss, honestly doesn't give me anything special, but I have been keeping it considering I want to get JGC in the future. Good strategy?
- ANA SFC Wide Gold JCB: I love this one and I am never gonna get rid of it...

Now, I was thinking of getting the Delta Amex Gold. The reason is I always fly once per year with my wife to my home country using KLM. Then I might use Delta on domestic flights in the US once or twice per year, and then there is the possibility I fly to Hawaii on China Airlines. My question is, do you think it is worth it?
