16. (The jlemon Special) It’s Thanksgiving weekend and you’ve just finished a delicious cheesesteak sandwich while watching your Philadelphia Flyers wreak havoc on the hapless New York Rangers. Man! The Broad Street Bullies whupped up on them Rangers like a red headed stepchild! And tomorrow, the Eagles are in a classic NFC East battle against the hated Dallas Cowboys. What a weekend! Suddenly the phone rings. Not so fast, says your boss. I need you in St. Louis by Monday morning. Oh no! You’ll have to fly out tomorrow afternoon. Unfortunately, because it’s Sunday on Thanksgiving weekend, all of the mid-day, afternoon and evening flights are sold out. The only thing available is a four-stop flight departing Philadelphia tomorrow morning at 6:35am. So be it. Book it, Danno! Identify the airline, the enroute stops and the equipment please.
Per jlemon: Perhaps this was the "Wings of Man".....Eastern. And I'll hazard yet another wild guess concerning the routing and the equipment: Philadelphia - Baltimore - Atlanta - Louisville - Evansville - St. Louis operated with a B727-100.
Per jrl767: I think jlemon meant Evansville (EVV) ... but I think we have tag-teamed this. BAL was eliminated earlier; my guess would be EA with a DC-9-30 via Wilmington DE (ILG), Charlotte (CLT), SDF, and EVV
Per Seat 2A: Whoa! I'm impressed! You two make a formidable tag team. However, in a review of the posts related to this question, I can't find where DCA was ever eliminated from consideration. It wasn't. BAL/BWI was. In any event, between the two of youse, yer close enough to the truth, so let's move on. Here's the schedule:
EA 653 Philadelphia (PHL) 635a – 700a Wilmington (ILG) 720a – 753a Washington DC (DCA) 820a – 944a B Louisville (SDF) 1015a – 944a Evansville (EVV) 1012a – 1055a St. Louis (STL)
Equipment: DC-9-30
Frequency: Sunday only
