No. If the room descriptions are "1 King Bed" and "1 Queen Bed" (or "2 Queen Beds") they are likely identical rooms with the only difference being the number and size of beds.



Wherever the individual property wants them to. At some hotels their base room is "Deluxe" because it sounds fancy.

Agreed. When you see King, Queen or Double in the room name that usually implies the bed type (at least I can't recall ever seeing a King Room have a Queen bed). Anything else is fluff and up to the property to decide. It can be the superior room is identical to the deluxe but just on a higher floor or with a view. This stuff really varies from property to property.

And don't even get me started on what a standard definition of a "suite" is .....
