The crew line thing is silly.

If you uses your INSPass and it doesn't work, it says go to crew line.
Sometimes they are down, you can go to crew line.
Other times, like today, "LINE"
Orange alert = normal line
And then, today, as it was closed, yet I was on UA, the UA agents were taking their pax to the crew line, and that was ok (and so it was ok for me).

Very confusing. Why they can't just let people with INSPasses use that line all the time if their machines are down yet again, I don't know.
