I used to work in a hotel that had jacuzzis. Unfortunately, it was common enough that someone would start to fill the jacuzzi in their room, then go visit someone else in the hotel or go to the lounge or otherwise not pay attention to the water levels in the jacuzzi. The worst floods ended up damaging hotel rooms for, oh, four or six floors below or would damage the ballrooms below that. We only find out when someone calls the front desk or housekeeping.
It almost always ended up with rooms being out of service for a day or longer while everything dried - thoroughly - and the extent of the damage was determined. We always charged them a fee for cleanup repairs. It started at around CAD400 from what I recall, and that was back 28 years ago. How much higher it went depended on the level of the damage.
