I chose the Savoy mainly due to its location and the price. It seemed to be a nice property and was much less expensive than the other options I'd considered, namely the Belmond, Strand and Shangri-La. I also considered the Lotte and Pan Pacific, but the Savoy seemed to have more character than those two newer properties.

Overall, I was quite happy with the Savoy. It reminded me a bit of the Raffles Le Royal in Phnom Penh, albeit a bit smaller and perhaps not quite as nice.
What was the location like? It looks a little tired. While it has all of the features and amenities, they are fairly basic and not necessarily luxury. The woods are all slightly different colors and tone.
