Can't you open a Schwab or Fido account online? What makes you think you need to drop by a Schwab office to open an account?

Schwab is very big in online automation, even on the investment side where they push Robot models so no human interaction whatsoever and you do everything online.
I really dont know why you have the notion that you need to drop by a Schwab office and worry about your conversation with the rep would be eavesdropped by other customers.
