Interesting that WN attributes entire revenue decline to the fatal accident and fuel prices, no mention of increased competition from AS. Competition has had a negative impact on fares, even when AS frequency is much less than WN.
DL is also going after routes that were typically owned by WN, such as SAN-LAS, applying further pressure on fares.
the fatality didn't affect their revenue.
pwoplw tend to book farther in advance, the addect from travel would be around Thxgvg/Xmas where infrequent travelers will buy into this and not fly southwest thinking they are worse They had to spike up ad play.
WN has already pulled out of many routes dominated by Alaska and/or Delta. Deltas growth in seattlehas mainly come at the expense of southwest and other carriers--not Alaska. I wouldn't be surprised if Southwest significantly pulls out of Seattle and moves to Paine field near Everett.
For WN PHX and LV has been hub airports---I don't see them backing out of routes going from those cities.
