My wife and I might flight AF business class SFO-CDG at the end of the month. The AF site indicates that for the 8:30 pm (flight #85 ) 777-300ER on the days we're interested in, the configuration is 1-2-1 for business class, which I take to mean the newer, lie-flat configuration. However, La Premiere does not seem for sale for that flight on those or other days on #85 , which would seem to indicate it's just a three-cabin aircraft with the older, lie flat business configuration. 3. I assume that if in fact these are the newer seats, they're much better than the A380 business class seats. Do I have that right?

I think that you are mixing planes.
AF85 sometimes flies with a 772 (777-200), all these birds have BSET J seats and no P. That happens on 25 June. They are currently no 777W (777-300ER) equipped with BEST and no F seats. Hence if you get a 77W without F, it has the old seats.
1. BEST seats flat
2. There is always a chance given than rougly half the fleet is equipped with BEST.
