If you have not left yet look into Travelex. They have a MasterCard that you can put Euros or Pounds as well as other currencies. You use your debit card to load money on the card anywhere in the world. I will say that it is quite expensive for the exchange rate. The card is also contactless. If Revolut was still active I would tell you to get that card, but it is not available in the US. I have been thinking about getting this card for my next trip.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend Travelex at all unless OP can't get a bank account for some reason (which doesn't seem to be the case). Schwab, for example, is a much better option for ATM withdrawals as they refund all ATM fees. The downside is that it requires a hard pull of your credit report.
BTW Revolut is supposedly coming to the US. I have the feeling that the US version of their debit card is going to be gimped, however (for instance, I wouldn't be surprised if it was chip and signature, unlike the European one).
