.. and most likely the suspicion comes from having a muslim name OR as it seems the likely hood of UK BA staff at LHR being so bloody racist!! I travelled with my family with my Croatian wife using her maiden name and she did not have to go through any of the checks either at the boarding gate or on arrival into US but I had to go through both.. USA arrival checks happened a few times for me but since my discussion with a very understanding CBP officer the US arrival checks are no more but BA continue to single me out every single time insisting on not issuing boarding card and performing security check at the boarding gate. This happened even when I was travelling with family including my under 1 year old daughter! So very embarrassing when you are travelling with children asking Dad why no others had to take their shoes off and open their bags but you!? ... The security guy even accepted that this was nothing to do with "random" boarding gate checks but more of a "selective" checks and said that I must have annoyed someone in BA who put in a special code in the system to get back at me! The only thing I said was how it could be random if I get this every single time but no one else travelling with me. For example, if I am travelling with work colleagues then only me and one other guy having muslim name is singled out for these checks at the gate before boarding a BA flight at LHR and others walk through - the question is if we are such a high risk then why no other airlines do these same checks at the boarding gate at LHR (only happens with BA) and why these same checks do not take place on the way back from the US to LHR even when travelling with BA - why only at LHR? Sort it out BA and single out your racist staff at LHR and deal with them!
