Am I the only one here who doesn't tip for breakfast? In my last 600+ nights in a hotel I'm yet to tip for breakfast. Not only that, but I haven't seen anyone ever leaving tips on the table. I only tip if I have lunch or dinner in hotel's restaurant.
For room service items I always tip $5. No matter how much was the food. If they would have regular prices, I would tip with the 15-20% scheme.
$42 for Caesar salad and a glass of water delivered to your room (Hilton Miami), and you want me to add 20% on the top of that? In the room menu it shows $14. How does it goes to total of $42 is beyond me, but I believe it has included service charge.
I wouldn't stay again in a hotel where they would give me crap like that with tips for breakfast.
