Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland (OR)

Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland (OR)

What is your Priority Club status?
Spire Inner Circle

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Room #1 (Revenue) Booked King Reserve Spa Suite and received the same on 6th Floor. Room #2 (Award) Booked Standard Room and upgraded to King Studio Suite. This was for two nights.

How are the rooms? Reserve Suite is nice and spacious; the view is of the Marriott next door, but it is quiet with no street noise. Very large bathroom with a separate shower stall and two person soaking tub. Studio Suite is a bit cramped but still nice sleeping area and large bathroom.

[If you are Spire]
How was your complimentary welcome amenity? So-so. Two donuts from Blue Star, a small box of truffles from Moonstruck, and some baked Vegan goods from Petunia's (this was for both rooms, combined)/ Strangely, no beverages were given. The second day, a single bottle of Coke Zero and a can of sparkling water with some gourmet M&Ms were delivered to the Studio Suite.

Did you raid the minibar? If so, what did you take? Yes - Craft trail mix ($8)

Were you offered a Chef's Taste at Dinner, If so, what did you receive? n/a - we did't eat on property, but the restaurant is well-rated and offers the Chef's Taste.

Did you use the free spa credit / did the hotel participate? If so, was it a good value? No.

What was good and what was bad?

Good - Friendly staff, newer property. Walking distance to transit and many restaurants and attractions. Lots of suites for upgrade opportunities. This is often the cheapest Kimpton in Portland. Good concierge (Ryan) who is very friendly and helpful.

Bad - Steep parking rates, no views from rooms, average welcome amenity.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return? Given the lower rates and high number of suites, yes.
