The problem is there will be plenty of room to stretch out, but no foot rest and my feet swell when I fly overseas...a lot. I thought about purchasing an inflatable foot rest from Amazon, but some people commented that they were told they were not allowed to use them. They do not mention the airlines they flew. The foot rest can be deflated and when inflated, would take up no more room than a carry on, which some rest their feet on.
If I call AF, they may tell me yes or no, but the final say might be with the individual flights and attendants. Has anyone used one of these footrests? Any thoughts on how to find out if they are allowed?
Thanks in advance.

I use a folding (not inflatable but same idea) footrest on every single flight I take. I obviously do not use it during take off and landing but do use it at all other times. If I go to the bathroom (or the window seat passenger needs to get out, I put it on my seat so no one trips on it. Never had a single problem. In fact, I have had FA’s ask me where I got it and what a great idea it is.
