The only way I knew to ask for PJs, a gel pillow and hot bites was from FlyerTalk. No evidence of it all on the menu on a recent IAH-SYD flight.

Anecdotally I didn’t notice anyone else with a gel pillow, mattress pad, or PJs (although I probably only observed 1/4 to 1/3 of the cabin).

An odd way to save money for sure, especially on a route with such high paid J fares and plenty of competition.
