We were due to fly an ex-ARN trip to LAX IN First on Monday, but sadly my father-in-law has suddenly past away. Obviously we will not be taking this trip and need to cancel.
The flights were booked through AA.com but all flights are on BA metal.
Fare was not flexible so I understand there is no requirement for these to be refunded by the airline. Is there a case on compassionate grounds here? Flights were paid with Amex and travel insurance will cover but I would prefer not to go down this line and reschedule for another date. After all the recent events, the holiday will certainly be needed.
Who is the best point of contact in this situation.
Many thanks in advance.
