Yes, once last year in the SkyP lane during a chaos day (with hundreds of people in line after an unattended bag stopped operations for 45-60 min in the terminal). Extremely unpleasant about the methods : I was in line for already a while when someone touched my shoulder and said abruptly that they wanted to check my bags weight. I was so surprised because when I turned my head, I saw the orange tag they have on the arm with "security" written on it and I thought for half a second that I was being arrested by police because they were acting like that. Overall they let me go because I ws in J (I think I had about 22 kg splitted over 2 bags). But that was the only time. It is true that now I am escorted most of the time thanks to Ultimate and so nobody bothers me anymore ! I have nothing on the principle of size/weight check but it's just the way they are acting that is very unpleasant.

When he escalated his sense of authority, I explained to him that Delta doesn't have any hand luggage limit, he just ignored me. At this point, 3 other DL passengers were in the same situation: "No scale, no fly" so I decided to go back to the counter. A nice AF agent reminded Mr. hbp that only AF passengers were subject to hand baggage weight.

No they don't. You can bring more without problem.
