The basic advice is not to enter Kosovo from Macedonia, Albania or Montenegro and then exit into Serbia. You will give yourself a significant headache dealing with the Serb authorities. Balkan politics are very complicated. You should re-think your itinerary if you want to drive. Otherwise take the bus.
Thank you, great advise, I have read about the extreme challenges of getting from Kosovo into Serbia, no problem going from Serbia to Kosovo. We plan to drive from Sofia to Skopje taking the long route through southern Serbia. Once in Skopje we would like to visit Kosovo, then return back to Skopje the same day.
