They still have the level 4 lounge in terminal 2. However no exclusive lounge there. I think they probably would let you in but outside peak times. I can imagine that the business class lounge is the one they worry about.

I will be travelling with my grandmother so it should be okay. Plus while for Emeralds and Paragon members T1 would get busy at night with T2 passengers, I doubt it would be over flowing as there are few T1 flights going out at night In comparison. By the way we can sort of blame this issue on how much easier it has become to get emerald membership In the last 2 or 3 years. Hopefully the new rules about skyteam flights counting for less or not at all and dropping the cheaper flight count to 0.5 for N class to HKG should help. The elite/business class lines at HKG when boarding the plane has become a joke.

Also if T1 is really getting full then Maybe they should allow passengers to use the VIP section Just for the next 3 months. Silly to have an empty room of 20 seats just for the odd VIP every few weeks. Plus surely they could also know if a VIP is expected to come through.

Anyway just incase I will contact the airline to see if I can get the confirmation to enter on the trip with my grandmother and my 2 yr old son.
