This is my sentiment exactly! Staying for 1 night and no plans to come back anytime soon? No tip. But, staying for several nights? A buck a day baby.... a buck a day. And I always leave a note with it to avoid any confusion.

Another thing I sometimes do is just skip housekeeping in extended stay properties.
