I've had a wonderful stay at Domaine des Ormeaux, in Périgord area (Ajat).
Easy access by train or plane (Brive la Gaillarde ou Périgueux, also Bordeaux or Toulouse).
Nice base to visit Brive, Sarlat, Collonges, Périgueux, jardins de Marqueyssac etc
Some good food too...
