Consistently delayed BA271 LHR-LAS flights

My wife and I will be flying Heathrow-Las Vegas by BA 271 in a week's time. Just checked the punctuality of that flight during the past year or so and am horrified to see that about 90% of BA271 get seriously delayed at departure and naturally arrives several hrs late.
Our flight is scheduled to land in LAS at 3.10 pm.
Looks like our flight also will suffer the same fate. Considering that we will be travelling all the way from Mauritius to Gatwick (12 hrs flight), then spending 2 hrs on National Express coach (Gatwick-Heathrow Term 3) and then again 12-14 hrs on BA271 before getting to LAS.
I just cannot prevent myself from wondering as to why that flight is being consistently delayed week in week out for that long?
Any idea? Surely Heathrow air traffic controllers cannot be that bad! Or is this something to do with BA staff or the aircraft?
Thank you
