Apparently BA won’t pay to get to new airport if less than 300 miles away which Geneva is. But a Zurich-Geneva train ticket is about £150! And I’ll get home to LHR 2hours 45m late, which isn’t the end of the world but annoying and less than the 3 hour cut off for compensation.

So all in all a frustrating and expensive trip home.

I find it hard to believe that BA wouldn't be obliged to pick up the cost of traveling to GVA but will let someone more knowledgeable than me comment on that?
