It was A LOT more crowded in the upper level lounge during my visit. To be honest I never understood why Lufthansa and SAS does it this way when it could have been one flagship lounge with more options for everyone in the first place.
Were there subtle differences? I have to admit the answer would be yes but the lower level seems to have been recently refurbished so it looks more modern. But I think of it as very subtle differences that would not really change how your experience would be. I guess unless you are a scotch drinker that is
My general feeling after spending over an hour in each lounge is that the experience was the same for me, certainly not sth I would be sad not having access to (The suite for example lol)
I would agree in general that the differences were/are subtle. In any case, I like that lounge. I don't know what time of day you were there, but in my experiences, the upper floor has never been crowded. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
