I've driven by the Brentwood Inn countless times (our kids went to pre-school nearby). It doesn't have much curb appeal, and I've never been inside. I see that it gets pretty good reviews on Yelp, however it is a "motel" and not a full service hotel. As best I can tell there is no restaurant/bar, gym, pool, etc. and the rooms appear to be very small at 270 SF, per their website. One other downside is that on weekdays, from 2 or 3 PM until rush-hour is over, traffic heading eastbound (toward UCLA and the 405 fwy) on Sunset Blvd from Bundy to Barrington is gridlocked.
Hotel Angeleno rates vary a lot - by $70. If you pay the extra $70, they give free parking. Otherwise pay $35 for parking

Update:
They were willing to reduce the price to certain other web prices (Expedia) but no cancellation!
