Aircraft repairs and maintenance take time. You can fault the airline for not keeping enough spare aircraft if you want.
Well, no, I would have preferred that they adequately maintain their equipment so the chances of situations like this are mitigated.

As I made very clear in my original post, this is not a one-off situation, but rather an (egregious) example of what I perceive to be a systematic failure on Delta's part to maintain their power sourcing equipment on the many, many flights I have taken with them.
