Great minds think alike.
We expect to stay again at Suiran. The RC and FS are both beautiful, but we prefer Suiran > RC > FS due to location, unique character, and intimacy. In this case, there just aren't that many places in the world where a place like Suiran even exists at all--so we would want to stay there!. As good as the RC is, there are many comparable luxury hotels like the RC and FS in too many other places. If Suiran weren't available, though, we'd opt next for the RC.
Another helpful & interesting review . Thanks bhrubin . Besides RC Kyoto , we will likely combine our next visit in November with a stay in Suiran , if there is still availability . So likely Amans , Tokyo before & Nemu after .
Last year ‘ s 2 visits to Kyoto , saw us doing similar meal ‘ routine ‘

, Japanese food is generally healthy but with our lobsters & steaks ..
